Wallet clustering analysis reveals developer wallets drained 72 hours before shutdown — a detailed on-chain investigation into the NovaCoin Protocol exit scam.
The Project
NovaCoin Protocol launched in January 2026 as a “next-generation DeFi yield optimisation protocol” promising APYs of 40–120%. The project raised approximately $12 million in a public token sale before its sudden collapse in June 2026.
On-Chain Evidence
InvestorWatchdog’s blockchain analysis identified a cluster of wallets linked to the development team that began systematically withdrawing liquidity 72 hours before the official shutdown announcement. A total of $11.4 million was moved through a series of mixer protocols before being converted to Monero.
Red Flags That Were Present
In retrospect, multiple warning signs were visible before the collapse: the development team was entirely anonymous, the smart contracts were unaudited, developer wallets held 34% of the total token supply, and the liquidity pool was not locked.
Regulatory Status
NovaCoin Protocol was not registered with any financial regulator. The SEC has opened an investigation. Interpol has issued a notice for the suspected lead developer, known only by the pseudonym “NovaDev”.
